How did we test?

We tested the ALLPOWERS S2000 in various scenarios. From moderate to extreme loads.

Our test methods included running several household appliances. During our tests we’ve measured and evaluated its battery efficiency, load limits, charge speed and solar charging efficiency.

Here’s what we found:

Unboxing and First Impressions

The ALLPOWERS S2000 comes neatly packed with a waterproof cover and a zipable bag that contains the AC cable.

The additional accessories like the cover are useful for protecting the power station from dust and moisture.

However, the cover isn’t meant for use while the device is running, as it could cause overheating.

On first impression, the unit feels lighter than expected. This is a plus for portability. But the plastic build makes it feel less rugged. The top handles don’t seem sturdy enough to support heavy loads when stacked in a vehicle.

AC & DC Usable Capacity Test

We fully charged the ALLPOWERS S2000 to 100% and ran several tests on both the AC and DC outputs.

DC Output Test: We connected a 50W electric fan to the DC output and let it run until the battery drained to 0%. The usable capacity was 975Wh, about 65% of the advertised 1500Wh, which is somewhat disappointing. While some ghost drain is expected, a 35% loss is on the high side.

AC Output Test: We ran a 250W electric heater on the AC outlet, with the usable capacity measured at 1050Wh. This translates to about 70% efficiency. Better than the DC output but still lower than we’d like for a 1500Wh power station.

Moderate Device Test

We powered a 900W water kettle and an 800W toaster simultaneously. The total draw was 1700W. After four minutes, the water had boiled and the toaster had finished its job.

The battery dropped by 11% during this test. This demonstrated the ALLPOWERS S2000’s ability to handle moderate loads with ease.

Extreme Load Test

To push the S2000 to its limits, we connected a 900W water kettle and a 1200W air fryer resulting in a combined load of 2150W. 7.5% over the unit’s 2000W rating.

Surprisingly, the S2000 continued operating without any issues, indicating it can handle slight overloads up to 10%.

However, when we added a toaster, pushing the load further, the power station immediately shut down by the safety mechanisms.

Solar Charging Test

We managed to draw 165W of input using a 200W ALLPOWERS solar panel on a sunny day.

Over 30 minutes, the battery level rose from 78% to 83%. Although it’s not the fastest compared to other models, these results confirmed the S2000’s capability to effectively charge via solar,

Starting from 84%, it took about an hour to reach full charge, which is slow compared to more premium models that offer rapid charging.

So it would take almost 6 hours to recharge it from 0% to 100%.
